Great post, Merve!! I can associate with you and your lovely pinky filing system. I'm really sorry you lost your files. I know how devastating that is. I hope you will soon have a new system up and running.

It happened to me when I lost all my favourite bookmarks that I'd been collecting for a long time. So I set up a wiki (wikis are supposed to be indestructible, as you can revert back to previous settings if you accidentally delete something), and now I feel a bit safer. I put all my latest web 2.0 experiments onto the wiki, which can be accessed wherever I am. (If you like, I can post a link to it later).

The idea of Dropbox is very cool as well!

* click on the Dropbox link in my comment to your post.
    * download it to your PC at home and at school (icon will show up at bottom right on both computers)
    * upload any file from your USB or PC

It is beyond easy to do.

If you are at an internet cafe or hotel anywhere in the world, you go to dropbox.com, log in and access or upload to your account.

I share some files with my partners too, like exams handouts, etc. we can all work on it without mailing it back and forth. No more mailing it to yourself either.

Enjoy

Hi Aisha,

This is great! You know what? While I was writing this post, I was wondering if there was an online storage or not. I wish I had dreamt about something else. How could I know that my wish would become true?:))

Anyways, thank you very much for your invitation. I became a member. What should I do now? Download it?

Hi Bülent,

I think I should buy a second storage. It's a pity they don't make pink ones:)

Hi Merve,

It's really a good idea to have a back-up to keep your files safe. I always store my important files in two separate storages. I have a 1 TB external disc and keep my files there. It isn't pinky but really works.

Thanks,

Bülent

Dear Osman,

Thank you for your nice comment. When I see all the digital books, supplementary materials, online interactive lessons on the innternet, I am sometimes afraid of losing my job:) So it is good to hear your teacher's comment. People still need teachers:)

Great subject, Merve. I totally understand your situation. Last week, I came across with an article about the effectiveness of Robot-Assisted Language Learning and thought that things from the past won't come back. Even if we adore floppy discs, we have to move on and use usb/flash discs.

I remember my teacher saying we got to concentrate on teaching. After some time, the technology will be the main goal not the tool in language teaching. That makes me think...hmm..

Thanks for the post! I enjoyed reading it :-)
